Assess the Mark
- Is it a surface scuff or a cut into the wear layer?
- Clean first—dirt can look like damage.
Light Scuffs
- Use a magic-eraser type sponge lightly; test in a corner.
- Buff with a soft cloth and mild cleaner; avoid oils/waxes.
Prevention
- Felt pads on furniture; replace when worn.
- Entry mats to trap grit; regular sweeping.
- Trim pet nails to reduce surface marking.
Deeper Marks
If the wear layer is damaged, blending is limited. Replace the affected plank when possible. Many click‑lock systems allow a single board to be removed and replaced with careful disassembly. Keep extra planks from your original batch for color match.
